Just because August is here doesn’t mean the summer fun is winding down in Valencia. Some of the most exciting, free, and family-friendly events are still ahead, and all are easily accessible through City of Santa Clarita Transit or Metrolink. And with Metrolink’s new all-day transit pass, it’s easier than ever to explore fun events in the Santa Clarita area!
Santa Clarita’s Central Park hosts live concerts every Saturday night this summer. The Concerts in the Park series is a great option for a chill summer night with food trucks, dancing, and lots of space for kids to play. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and settle in with your favorite snacks.
The shows begin at 7:00 pm, but food trucks usually start serving by 5:00 pm, so get there early. You can reach Central Park via several Santa Clarita Transit bus routes with transfers through McBean Regional Transit Center, just a few minutes away.
Get ready for back-to-school season at the Valencia Town Center’s Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. This event includes surprise character visits, face painting, giveaways, live music, and even a kids’ backpack fashion show!
The event takes place at the Westfield Valencia Town Center near the H&M entrance. To get there, hop on any Santa Clarita bus bound for the McBean Transit Center, which drops you off right at the mall. It’s a short walk from the station to the event plaza!
The Celebrate event series continues Friday, August 8, 2025, with an event dedicated to Italy at Canyon Country Community Center. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, enjoy live music performances, cultural activities, and food samples, with hands-on craft activities for the kids.
Canyon Country Community Center is accessible by Santa Clarita Transit buses; you can transfer through McBean or Newhall stations to a route serving Sierra Highway. From there, it’s a short walk to the event.
Santa Clarita’s City Cinemas in the Park series makes movie magic happen every fourth Friday in summer! On August 22, 2025, come to the Centre to watch Jaws (1975) under the stars. Enjoy delicious treats from food trucks and games or trivia before the show!
The movie begins at 7:30 pm, with activities and food trucks start rolling in by 6:00 pm. It’s worth coming early to grab a good spot. This event is easy to reach via Santa Clarita Transit, with the Centre located just a half hour ride from McBean Regional Transit Center.

What’s summer without a day of fun at the beach? San Clemente’s North Beach is easily accessible via Metrolink trains. From the Newhall Station in Santa Clarita, take the AV Line to Union, then transfer to the OC Line, getting off at San Clemente. The beach is just a few feet away!
