Your First EV Could Cost $3,500 Less

California’s new MyFirstEV program makes going electric more affordable

Thinking about making your next vehicle electric? California’s new FirstEV program could help you save up to $3,500 on a qualifying new electric vehicle or $1,750 on a qualifying used electric vehicle.

How does it work?

The savings are applied directly at the point of sale through participating automakers. That means there is no traditional rebate application to submit after your purchase and no waiting for a reimbursement check.

The program is funded jointly by the State of California and participating vehicle manufacturers. Each contributes half of the incentive. Learn more from the California Air Resources Board.

For Valencia residents considering their first electric vehicle, the savings may go even further: eligible homeowners may be able to combine MyFirstEV with VALENCIA GO’s $1,000 Zero-Emission Vehicle subsidy, helping lower the cost of making the switch to electric.

Launch dates and eligible models vary by manufacturer and dealership. Some offers are already available, while others are being introduced on a rolling basis. Check the official participating-manufacturer page.

Important: A vehicle ordered or purchased before its manufacturer makes the MyFirstEV incentive available will not qualify retroactively.
