- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be the original homeowner and reside in the Valencia mixed-use development located west of Interstate 5 in the Santa Clarita Valley in unincorporated Los Angeles County, and its surrounding area.
- If the applicant is under 18 years of age and is a junior high school or high school student, the form must be submitted by a parent or guardian living in the household.
- All homeowners, or their tenants, apartment renters, and their junior high school and high school students who reside in their home within Valencia are eligible for the transit subsidies. Students are eligible to receive a free Santa Clarita local transit pass for the duration of the school year. Adult residents may choose between the Santa Clarita local transit pass; up to $132 a month in stored value on the TAP card, which is valid in Santa Clarita and other area agencies; or up to $132 a month in stored value to cover Metrolink fares.
- If the student(s) in the household do not go to Santa Clarita Valley schools (public or private), but still reside in a Valencia home, the student(s) are still eligible to receive the transit subsidy.
- Businesses, non-profit organizations, and government entities are not eligible for subsidies.
- Transit subsidies are available to all adult residents within the household and their junior high school and high school students living with them.
- If applying for a local Santa Clarita transit pass or stored value amount, the applicant authorizes TAP to share their card balance with VALENCIA GO using the TAP Participant Agreement.
- If applying for funds for the Metrolink stored value amount, the applicant authorizes VALENCIA GO to access the applicant’s card balance.
- Transit subsidies are ongoing as long as the applicant lives in their Valencia home and has a need for the subsidy. The applicant can enroll and unenroll for the transit subsidies as needed.
- VALENCIA GO staff will be checking in periodically to make sure the applicant still needs and is using the transit subsidy.
- Homeowners who rent out their home to tenants and do not live in Valencia, are not eligible for a transit subsidy, however, their tenants are eligible for a transit subsidy.
- Current Valencia apartment residents are eligible for a transit subsidy.
- The Valencia Transportation Management Organization (“VALENCIA GO”) reserves the right to change, modify, or terminate the Program at any time without any liability except as expressly stated herein. Subsidies are subject to availability at the time of application.
- Applicants must provide proof of Valencia residency by submitting a photo or scan of a state driver’s license or recently dated official correspondence such as a utility bill, cell phone bill, pay stub, property tax statement, etc. that shows the applicant’s name and home address. P.O. Boxes will not be accepted as proof of residency.
- Applicants will be notified of their application status by email after submitting a subsidy application. If approved for the subsidy, an email will be sent to the applicant detailing the next steps in the transit subsidy process.
- If applying for the Santa Clarita Transit local pass for $34 a month, the pass will be renewed monthly.
- If applying for the Santa Clarita Transit stored value equivalent to $6 a day for 22 workdays per month ($132 per month), VALENCIA GO will load that stored value onto the card. At the beginning of each month, the card will be replenished with the amount used in the prior month to reach a stored value of $132.
- If applying for the Metrolink stored value equivalent to $6 a day for 22 workdays per month ($132 per month), the TMO will load that stored value onto the card. At the beginning of each month, the card will be replenished with the amount used in the prior month to reach a stored value of $132.
- The Valencia Transportation Management Organization (“VALENCIA GO”) reserves the right to deny a subsidy to any individual deemed, in its sole discretion, to be violating the terms, conditions, and restrictions of the Program. Subsidies are subject to availability at the time of application.
- TAX LIABILITY and CREDITS: VALENCIA GO and its partnering agencies are not responsible for any taxes which may be imposed on the owner as a result of the subsidies provided by the Program. Residents who receive a subsidy should consult with their accountant and/or tax preparer.
- DISPUTES: Except where otherwise limited by law, VALENCIA GO reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to make final determinations regarding any disputed issues about the Program, including but not limited to eligibility and subsidy amount.
The undersigned (the “Applicant”) hereby acknowledges that they have reviewed copies of the Mobility Subsidies FAQs and Eligibility, Rules, Terms and Conditions/Application Process/Applicant Responsibilities/Waiver and Release and represents that he/she qualifies for the offered subsidy (the “Subsidy”). Applicant releases and agrees to hold VALENCIA GO, FirstService (“FirstService”), Alta Planning + Design (“Alta”), The Newhall Land and Farming Company (A California Limited Partnership) (“Newhall”) and Five Point Holdings, LLC (“FivePoint”) and their respective owners, members, partners, subsidiaries, agents, employees, vendors and contractors free and harmless from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, losses, costs or expenses arising out of or in connection with the Subsidy. In connection with this release and waiver, Applicant has read, understands, and fully waives the statutory language of Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, which provides:
“A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party”.
As used in the preceding paragraph, “releasing party” refers to Applicant and “released party” refers to VALENCIA GO, FirstService, Alta, Newhall, and FivePoint.
This release is agreed to be binding upon the undersigned and his or her spouse and other family members, and their respective heirs, representatives, successors, and assigns.
I consent to the use of my name, image and/or likeness in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to VALENCIA GO, which I understand will be without additional financial or other compensation to me.
