Spread the Love on Local Trails & Rails in Valencia

Valentine’s Day (and the weekend) is almost here! Whether you’re headed out to celebrate or taking a spin down the street, here’s some more options for getting there!

Check out these local events, discounts, and tips for your trip out to make the most of February in Valencia. Don’t forget to add sustainable trips in our VALENCIA GO app to track your CO2 emissions and share your favorite routes. 💗

Let’s get you going

Want to try a new way to get around? Dip your toe into Santa Clarita’s transit this weekend! Each event below includes a recommended bus route and trip times. If you’d prefer a full family affair, kids ride Metrolink free on weekends! VALENCIA GO can provide free transit passes each month, for you and your household. Learn more here.

Want to show your love for public transport from the comfort of home? Metrolink’s also got merch that might be right for the traveler in your life.

If you’d like to e-bike on local trails or cruise down Eastlink in a neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV), we’ve got the subsidies for you. Find your ideal route with Santa Clarita’s city map of trails, bike lanes, and paseos!

In the neighborhood

Take yourselves for a spin! To enjoy a romantic walk with your partner or stretch the whole family’s legs, try these spots:

  • Eastlink Trail: Along Adventure Ave on the north side of Magic Mountain Pkwy, you can get in half a mile in steps or cycling. If you’re out on Sunday between 8:30 am – 1 p.m., stop by the farmer’s market down Magic Mountain Pkwy!
  • Confluence Park: head down Middleton St., Rambleton St., or Riparian Ave to reach this oasis with the community lounge and pools. NEV routes and safe sidewalks provide a chance to walk, ride, or bike at your leisure.

Around town

We recommend these local destinations to celebrate (or ignore) the Valentine’s spirit this weekend! Follow our routes to each spot on transit or trails, or take your e-bike and use the free bike lockers by Metrolink stations or City Hall.

    • 🚌 Get there: hop on the 7 bus at Commerce Center Dr. and Middleton St. Ride 30-40 minutes, then get off at Newhall Ranch Rd. and Dickason Dr. The Cube will be on your right past Maria’s Italian Deli!
    • 🚌 Get there: While you can take the 7 or 3 bus to McBean Transit Center, then the 12 route to Placerita Canyon Rd, you’ll need to bring an e-bike  on the burs or drive your zero-emission vehicle to get the last 2 miles to Placerita Canyon Nature Center.  If you’ve got neither, consider carpooling with your fellow hikers—that way, you have a built-in hike buddy.
  • Feb 15 – 16, activities 9 am – 2 pm and dinner 3pm – 6pm – Gilchrist Farm. Take the whole family for horse rides, wagon rides, and Valentine crafts, then show up for your dinner reservation for fresh food and axe throwing!
    • 🚌 Get there: Take the 3 bus from Commerce Center Dr. and Middleton St. to McBean, then transfer to 4 and ride ‘til Larc Ranch (about 20 minutes.) From there, it’s a 1-mile bike or stroll to the farm. Don’t forget water and sunscreen!
    • 🚌 Get there: The 7 bus from Commerce Center Dr. and Middleton St. will get you within a mile of Lucky Luke’s, but we recommend your e-bike or comfy shoes for that last section! In an EV or shared car, the ride is 15 minutes.

Step out into SoCal

To take your weekend out of the city limits, you can hop on Metrolink to get to the beach in just 3 hours, or take an hour-long jaunt to Little Tokyo in L.A

    • 🚌 Get there: To get to the Metrolink line, take the 3 or 7 bus from Commerce Center Drive & Middleton St. to McBean Transit Center, then the 5 or 6 to Newhall Metrolink Station.
